Ammann has released a brand new line of technologically advanced APF, forward travel plate compactors. These plates provide industry leading compaction output, manoeuvrability, travel speed and climbing ability. They have also had much work done to reduce unwanted vibration to operators.

 

The new models are the Ammann APF 12/33, APF 15/40, APF 15/50, and APF 20/50. The product line is the lightest of all the Ammann plate compactors, with weights ranging from 69kg to 107 kg and widths from 330 mm to 500 mm. The current APF1033, which weighs 54kg and is a consistent best seller will be remaining in the APF range.

 

These plates fit a broad range of applications, such as gardening, landscaping and road works. With an optional water sprinkler, vulkollan mat and transport wheel kit, the machine are also suitable for asphalt applications and the laying of paving stones.

 

The APF line is powered by reliable and efficient Honda petrol engines. The largest 20/50 is available with a Honda petrol or Hatz diesel engine.

 

On top of the additional features, each plate boasts; a frame protecting all of the crucial components, a wear plate designed to last and a maintenance free exciter system. A main feature is the new Z-buffer inserted into the handles. This patented system enables precise machine control whilst protecting the operator from vibration, levels are now below 2.5 m/sec2. These low HAV levels allow for longer work shifts without a health risk or the need for documentation.

Vibratory Plate Compactors are ready for any situation. The product line ranges from a light 54 kg to a much heavier 825 kg – with many models in between.

 

All Ammann plates are easy to operate, making them ideal for rental fleets. They also are versatile, with an ability to easily adjust to varied applications. Many are available with diesel or petrol engines.

 

When it comes to production, some of these machines move as quickly as soil compactors. They are high-climbers, too, with various models performing on grades as steep as 30 per cent.
